I’ve been having a bit of time getting back into work mode. One of the good and bad things about spending almost two weeks in Nova Scotia is that time kind of stops. During my trip, I watched a lot of movies and stayed up late and slept in until almost noon only to get up to repeat it all again. Not that this was a bad thing–Lord knows my brain and body needed the break from months of intense studio work. However, it has made me a little sluggish now that I’m back in Montreal. Especially since I’ve been receiving school-related emails nonstop before I even got back and already amassed half a dozen readings to be read (and somewhat understood) by the Monday/Tuesday.

(Which totally reminds me! Crap! I’ve got to find some articles on wunderkammers for my undergrad students. Must remember to find something after this post!)

I have a lot of stuff planned for the next coming weeks. Ambitious optimism, you can call it. I went into the studio this morning to get back into knitting the Here We Are As One piece that has to be shipped by February for a group exhibition. I’m preparing for getting into machine-mode. I’m downloading movies and making sure I pack enough for lunch. I have a lot of knitting to do, an almost unrealistic amount but I’m confident. Sometimes I think I take on the impossible but I know in my gut that it will all happen even if people tell me I’m nuts.

I’ll be posting some more pictures a little later in the month. During New Year’s Eve, I believe champagne got into my camera and has gummed up the dials a little bit (or it could have been firework ash from the fireworks we set off on the front lawn). Either way, I need to clean the little guy before any more pictures can happen. In the meantime, here are a few dramatic shots from Lawerencetown Beach in Cole Harbour, NS.
